Industrial Nameplate, Inc. was founded in 1968 by David Stitzer. Starting out in a basement with periodic support from his two brothers, David initially focused on printing anodized aluminum foil and plates. The business achieved success right from the beginning and was able to quickly expand by offering pressure-sensitive adhesive on Mylar, stainless steel and brass. Aluminum foil labels continue to be an important product helping the success of our business.
In 1970, Industrial Nameplate incorporated and rented a simple 1,500-square-foot facility. In 1972, David purchased property in Ivyland, PA and built a 4,500-square-foot space specially designed for our printing and finishing purposes at the time. Each year brought new opportunities allowing for growth within the industry.
During the 1980s, Industrial Nameplate became more recognized, producing work for many industries and government organizations. Due to our industry relationships built on trust and respect, we became one of the go-to resources to help draft drawing specifications for many of the identification products for industrial and military grade parts. As new materials and technology became available, we expanded our services and our facility to 8,000 square feet.
We now operate with almost 20,000 square feet of fully climate-controlled indoor space and maintain pace with changing technologies. Industrial Nameplate has continually adopted cutting-edge innovations as they develop over time.
John Stitzer, son of our company’s founder, started learning the trade by engraving parts in 1988. John earned his engineering degree, achieved success as a licensed Professional Engineer, and returned to Industrial Nameplate. John has been instrumental in implementing the latest technologies to improve efficiencies and reduce the time to completion, while maintaining or improving the best quality possible.
Under our second generation of ownership, we are carefully reducing our carbon footprint in many ways. Through education and capital expenses, we have reduced waste, increased recycling, reduced demand on consumables such as electricity, water, paper, plastics and metals. We have also adopted paperless technologies. We have even transitioned to adjustable sized shipping boxes to reduce packaging materials and transport costs, helping our customers save money.
